The Religious Education and Formation process at Holy Family is for children age 3 thru 8th grade and is based on the belief that our faith journey is lifelong and ever changing. Our curriculum is designed to help our youth develop ways of understanding and living their faith that will serve them throughout life.
Liturgy and catechesis share the common goal of bringing people into a deeper relationship with God. For this reason, our curriculum is lectionary based. In connecting liturgy and catechesis, the understanding of the liturgy is enhanced. This understanding takes our faith experiences beyond the church and the classroom and out into the world.
Vatican II named the family the "domestic church" - a child's first and primary religious educator. At Holy Family, we are blessed with excellent catechists who have felt called to come forward and share their faith. However, for catechesis to be effective, the family must embrace the formation of the child as well. We ask that families pray together and share their faith experiences in the home.
Family Religious Education
Tod Fetherling - email@example.com
Family Religious Education is a group of families who practice faith formation together as a small faith community in which the adults mentor the children and offer support and encouragement to each other. To enhance the growth of this community, social opportunities are offered outside of class time, as well as service opportunities in which the families work together, children alongside adults.
