Become a Catechist

Teaching Religious Formation is not only a wonderful gift to our youth, but also it is an opportunity to grow in your own faith as well. It offers a great way to connect with others in our faith community. Many catechists have made long- lasting friendships with their co-catechists and students they have taught.

Catechists at Holy Family will have:

  • a training before the year begins
  • new, interactive curriculum
  • at least one co-catechist in the classroom
  • holidays and Williamson County School breaks off

Preparation for classes is a minimal time commitment. Catechists are not expected to be theologians. The only requirement is that they be enthusiastic about their faith and willing to share that faith with our children.

Two Catechists are needed for each class in order to fulfill  the requirements of the Diocesan Safe Environment Policy.  Some Catechists have found that for scheduling purposes, it is helpful to have a group of 4 or more that can rotate week to week throughout the year. If you have a group larger than four that would like to teach a specific class, please reach out directly to Jennifer Reamer ([email protected])
